Artist Statement

Drawing is meditation. By using simple and consistent compositions in my work I can focus all of my energy on repetitive mark making. My tools and palette for drawing are simple; I work almost exclusively with black ink on white paper as it allows me to work in little to no light, maintaining just enough visibility to execute my predetermined structures. Digital imaging transforms my drawings into completed works of art, allowing me to add color and finalize compositions.
